I was appointed as acting judge in January 2015 to 2017, for the South Gauteng Division (Johannesburg). My professional career started off as liquidator, I was appointed as liquidator and trustee in more than 500 company and personal sequestrations. As an advocate I did numerous liquidation and sequestration applications, and have been involved in an urgent application to the Constitutional Court. Apart from other urgent applications I was involved in labour disputes, civil criminal cases and the drafting of contracts. Opposed motion applications are probably my forte. I appeared in every forum in South Africa, including court martials, appeal cases, labour court, arbitration hearings, insolvency interrogations and the Constitutional Court. I have also addressed several parliamentary portfolio committees. I did a course in Business Rescue. I was/am part-time lecturer at the University of Pretoria during 2010-2019. I am also a part-time employee for the Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria in the position as researcher for him.
I was a member of the National Forum, the body established in terms of the Legal Practice Act, Act 28 of 2014, this is a ministerial appointment, the functions of the National Forum is to draft rules and regulations for the legal profession.
